In a rearranged fixture against a determined St Lawrence’s team Cú Chulainns made it four out of four despite conceding three first half goals.
From the throw in midfielder Paul Mc Govern flicked the ball to Dave O’Mahony who neatly tapped the ball over from 25 yards out to get the ball rolling on what would be a busy day for the Cork man.
The kick out was then quickly send straight back into the full forward line where Terrance E. Gallagher fired the ball past keeper to put them 1-1 to 0-0 up. Cú Chulainns continued to pile on the points with Brennan and O’Mahony adding further points.
The Manchester lads then made their first mark on the score sheet with a well taken twenty yard goal from their centre half forward Moore.
Cú Chulainns quickly replied with a easy tap in goal for O’Mahony and more scores from North Roscommon man James Tully and McGovern.
At this stage the Newcastle team looked out of sight, but to give Lawrence’s credit they continued to press and they were rightly awarded a penalty after some indecisive play from the Cú Chulainns keeper. This was well dispatched straight down the middle of the goal.

As the second half began Cú Chulainns regained their grip on the game and dominated possession around midfield,
and with more clinical play from the forwards the score line continued to grow steadily and at no point in the half did the game look like it was slipping away from them.
In the best move of the game a great threw ball from big full forward Chris O Kane, was coolly dispatched a low drive past the keeper soccer style by O’Mahony who was instantly substituted.
